Adventures of a 5 Month Old

We are thankful that Audrey is not a picky eater. However, she is a very enthusiastic eater! So far she has tried and liked bananas, pears, peaches, applesauce and pictured above, even prunes. This week we have tried some vegetables, peas, squash and sweet potatoes. Audrey eats them all with gusto.
After the prune disaster, we needed a serious bath!
She really does smile a lot. But I seem to always capture her surprised look on camera!
Audrey can get on all fours and rock back and forth. She scoots backwards all the time and occasionally scoots foward.
We are so close to sitting up on our own!

Surprise!

Audrey and I flew to Denver for the weekend to surprise Kristi for her 30th birthday. Audrey slept the whole flight and never complained about her ears popping. Going through security was a challenge but seeing the look on Kristi's face was priceless!
Kristi was getting a pedicure when we walked in. Her feet were all wet and she nearly fell when she ran to greet and hug us.
Kandice finally gets to meet Audrey.
On Saturday we had breakfast with Great Papa and played at his house. Audrey was all smiles as you can see.

That night was Kristi's birthday party. It was at the MadCap Comedy Club. Lots of laughs with improv acting. They even called up Kristi to be a part of the Dating Game.
Aunt Bluejeans and F.M.
Jason just loved Audrey. She had him wrapped around her finger all weekend.
Erin was smokin' hot!
Audrey did well during the show and even slept through a little of it.

Birthday girl!

LONG crazy weekend takes it toll on the little one...

Sunday night we played a rousing game of Monopoly.
Audrey helped Kandice be the banker.

It was a fun trip. We were both exhausted when we flew home but celebrating with friends and family made it worth the whole trip. Next time I fly, I'm bringing Steve with me! :)

Eye Appointment

For a couple months now, I have noticed that Audrey's right pupil, at times, is larger than her left. The pediatrician didn't think it was serious but wanted to have it checked out to make sure. I took Audrey to the pediatric opthamologist, Dr. Grin, this morning. She did fairly well, considering she does not like to sit still these days. And they dilated her eyes, of which she hated the eye drops! But after the examination the doctor felt her pupil difference was a "normal variance" and nothing to be concerned about. I guess 20% of the population has this. I have to take her back in when she's about a year old just to make sure, but we thank God that things are okay now. Can you believe it's August already?!?!?
