Zoey's 5th Birthday Party

Despite it raining for the last 2 days, the park was in good shape for a party! The kids were ready to run!

And hugs to Granny Jo and Pa.
Christopher got bored so Grandma entertained him by the pond.
And then everyone wanted to join in on the fun.
Christopher continued to entertain himself by walking around with a bag over his head!
And Zoey scored some awesome gifts.

This started out as a group shot before a game of Green Light Red Light.
Which turned into a dog pile attack on Angi!

Audrey is in back. :)

Johnson County Museum Kidscape

I've discovered a new and FREE place to take the kids! Lots of hands on play and they loved it so much we went 2 days in a row!

One of Audrey's favorite rooms was the theater. She didn't want to perform or dress up. She wanted to DIRECT. It was hilarious watching her boss boys that were 2-3 years older than her!

 Making jewelry with Daddy.

Is there a doctor in the house?

And Christopher loved closing himself in the stove. It was just his size!
Lots of fun and I can see us going back many times!

Kiddo Update (It's about time!)

I don't know why this is upside down! Anyway... On August 4th Audrey was the flower girl at our friends' wedding, Hope and Zach. She insisted I make 3 braids. She did great at the wedding and looked so pretty!

Christopher continues to add new words every week thanks to the tubes in his ears and weekly speech therapy. He has even taken an interest in potty training even though he can't say the words yet! He also cut his other three 2 yr old molars.

Happy Birthday Christopher

Christopher really liked his cake. The construction trucks were a hit!
He got into opening his presents at first.

And then he got the fire truck. And I had to open the rest. He loved the fire truck so much!

He also got a recorder and a phone that competed for his attention.
Yummy birthday cake Grandma!
I get to take very many pictures because I was helping with the presents and it was chaotic, but fun! Granny Jo and Pa even came to the party. It was a fun day.

Christopher's 2 yr check-up and new words

Christopher had a good checkup. As usual he was a mama's boy and didn't want anyone to touch him. And he was lucky today, no shots! He is 26.4 pounds (30%) and 35 inches (70%). His sister is still taller than him! Oh well, we'll see how it plays out over the years...

Since getting tubes in his ears 3 weeks ago and starting speech therapy, Christopher has added the words car, thank you, welcome, more, milk, book, stuck and 'der' for dog. His speech is more animated and he is trying to say the letters of the alphabet and count in his own little language. He is ahead for his age in gross and fine motor skills. He can pull apart and put together regular legos as well as duplos. He can jump, run, climb and balance on just about anything he wants. He loves to scribble and paint and stamp. He still prefers my company but loves to give hugs to Grandma, Audrey and Daddy.

My kiddos and me

They really do like each other.

Audrey showing off her flower girl dress for next week's wedding.
And Christopher loving on me. :)

4th of July

The kids enjoyed our annual visit to the Flags for Freedom.
Even if it was already 90 degrees at 9 in the morning!

They weren't up for posing, mostly running and exploring.

My pics of the fireworks didn't turn out very well, but we had fun watching them with Grandma!
