Girls Trip to Branson April 14-16, 2012

We loaded up the rental car and headed to Branson, MO for the 100th anniversary of the Titanic sinking.
Audrey was great for her first girls trip!
Kristi was super excited!

We watched a tribute concert for an hour before we went on the museum tour.
This man played Captain EJ Smith.
Audrey got bored and played Angry Birds.

The eternal flame at the bow of the ship.
After the museum we checked into the hotel and went swimming. Audrey was checking herself out.
And then jumped on the bed while we were waiting for everyone to get ready.

After swimming we decided to walk downtown along the river and boardwalk.
Throwing pennies.

Erin was jamming to the music.

Then we ate at a fabulous mexican restaurant with yummy guacamole and margaritas!

Audrey loved the queso.
Lugene, the guacamole.
The next day we took the trolley and shopped downtown.

Audrey rode a horse outside the five and dime store. It was fun watching her in the store. She thought everything was so cool!
That night we went mini golfing. I think Audrey lasted about 11 holes. After that she was our caddy and told us how to hit the ball.

Before going back to the hotel for the night Audrey wanted to sit in this chair. It vibrated like crazy!
Before heading back to KC, we went to the Gone with the Wind museum!
Lots of cool memorabilia!

We had lunch at Lamberts. Erin and Lugene were impressed.
Erin's pork chops came in a full skillet.
One last stop before home, Osceola. They have over 200 varieties of cheese!
A fun-filled weekend. And we can't wait to go on another one together!

Easter

After many attempts, Audrey finally posed for a sweet bunny picture.

Yes, my child wore and dress AND a hat. And she liked it! However, she wouldn't wear dress shoes so she wore her trusty old tennis shoes. That's my girl.
I love Christopher's expression of "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here?"

And then they were off to find their treasure!

Christopher did really well for his first time. He couldn't keep up with the older kids and wanted to open every egg before going on to the next. But I think he enjoyed himself nonetheless.

Then we went inside and opened eggs and found pennies, toys and candy!

Grandma gave the kids their Easter baskets and Audrey got a Dora book.
And everyone got duck horns. Lots of fun!

Another great Easter with family!

Lessons Learned from Dyeing Easter Eggs

1. Christopher is not ready.
2. Dyeing tablets look like candy to little boys.
3. Toothbrushes take a beating after boys try to eat dyeing tablets.
4. Salvaged pink and orange tablets make peach!
5. Dyeing bowls look like water colors to little boys.
6. Little boys don't know how to "place" eggs in dye. They only know how to throw.
7. Hard boiled eggs are great for squishing, if you are 20 months old.
8. Quality and quantity of pictures suffer due to all of the above.
9. I have more respect for Comet.

Easter is on it's Way!

Last weekend we all met at Crown Center to see the Easter Bunny!
Par for the course, Christopher was not in the mood.
Although he did better than he did with Santa.
Audrey and Zoey, however, LOVED him!

Then we went to the interactive kids area. The theme was all about animals.
The kids got to run around for awhile and have fun exploring.
 Even Grandma got into it!

Then we drove to the Plaza and saw many of the bunnies on display.

 Love the pose Zoey!

Why do kids love to throw pennies in the fountain?
Good thing we live in the City of Fountains!

The best I could get of the 4 of them!
 Little heartbreaker.

After a long afternoon and evening we settled down together.
